Antique, Art Nouveau Duchess China Bread & Butter Plate c.1910+

A square plate hand decorated with purple and red flowers, green leaves and little chinese lanterns. The butter yellow border is over painted with dots and geometric patterns, a black line inner border and rim and black scrolls on the handles.

Lovely brightly coloured enamel detail.

These square shaped plates were designed to serve bread & butter but of course are also suitable for sandwiches, cake and biscuits etc. and for display.
