A beautiful vintage Sadler teapot with a double sided scene of courting couples with ladies in crinoline dresses and lashings of gold gilding.
The lid finial is a little gold bow and there is gold detail around the rim, handle, spout and teapot base. There is underglaze crazing on the teapot lid only which does not affect the use of this lovely teapot.
The body is cream with a delicate gold filigree pattern overlay. 1.75 pint capacity.
With straining holes in the spout this teapot can be used for loose tea and tea bags.
Made by Sadler c.1940s and in excellent condition.
