Royal Albert Crown China - Royalty vintage cake plate c.1932
This eye-catching bone china cake plate has a cobalt blue glaze over a rust coloured transfer print. A striking art deco design in Imari colours with hand painted dark orange enamel flowers and bright green leaves. Gold on the rim.
Gold has been hand painted around the decorative panals. In bygone times, gold was used more liberally on chinaware than it is today and would sparkle under soft candlelight. Gold scrolls give detail to the earred handles.
24cm x 25cm wide approx.
Back stamp: Royal Albert Crown China. Royalty. Made in the Staffordshire Potteries, England by Thomas C. Wilde and Sons, St Mary's Works, Longton. Pattern Registration No.789616 c.1931-2. Shape Registration No.773311 c.1932.
