Royal Stafford Violets Pompadour vintage bone china teacup, saucer and tea plate trios. c.1950s
Dainty pink, blue, lilac and yellow flowers with sponged gold gilding. At the time that this china was made 22kt gold was used for gilding and it was applied by hand either with a brush or as in this case with a small piece of sea sponge.
The pattern is repeated as a small motif inside the teacup.
Saucer 14cm wide. Tea Plate 16.5cm wide.
