Swinnertons of Hanley Art Deco Period Orange and Floral Biscuit Box c.1930's
Hexagonal shape, plated lid and handle and acrylic finial with flower
SORRY SOLD OUT
Swinnertons Hampton Ivory 1930's Art Deco period orange and floral biscuit barrel or biscuit box with a nickel silver plated (E.P.N.S.) lid, rim and handle and an acrylic resin finial containing a little red flower.
The upper is a bright orange colour with a thin honey gold upper border and a wider lower border. Below is a pretty floral design on a cream coloured body. The rim is stamped E.P.N.S. and there is a makers mark that we think is B.C.& S.
The folding handle has a double barley twist.
The finial on the lid contains a little red and blue 'flower'.
The hexagonal shaped ceramic container measures 13.5cm from base to rim and 11cm wide across the rim.
An unusual and charming container for biscuits, sweets and treats.
There is underglaze crazing on this piece which is quite normal in vintage ceramics and does not detract from its appeal or use.
